t-shaped horseshoe
A mushroom shoe or a similar T-bar shoe supports only the dorsal half of the bearing edge and has a bar (the 'stem' of the mushroom) extending back from the centre of the shoe providing frog support. The rear of the quarters, the heels and the bars are unsupported.
