An anatomical region of the hoof and pastern including the coronary band, the adjacent skin and the subcutaneous tissue of the coronary cushion. Injury of this area may lead to disruption of the horn building epidermis and result in permanent hoof wall damage.

Die Krone ist eine sehr sensible Region, da hier bei Verletzungen die Hornbildung der Hornwand nachhaltig gestört werden kann.
