cerclage

cerclage wiring

A term originating from the french expression for 'binding'. In medicine this refers to the process of fastening a loop (generally made of wire) around an object to hold it together (such as the ends of bone in a fracture). On hooves, wire cerclage is used to stabilise a deep verticalhoof crack by attaching a wire loop (or loops) around shallow screws inserted either side of the crack.

Der Begriff stammt aus dem Französischen und bedeutet «Bindung». Bei einer Cerclage wird in der Regel ein Stahldraht verwendet um mobile Teile gegeneinander zu fixieren.  Beim Pferd  findet die Cerclage Verwendung in der Behandlung von Knochenbrüchen oder bei der Therapie von tiefen und durchgehenden Hornspalten.
