The process at the end of the stance phase in which the hoof rotates around a point in the toe, starting with lift-off of the heels and ending with toe-off when the toe leaves the ground. The period of time required for this procedure is refered to as breakover time.

Bewegung des Hufes am Ende der Stützbeinphase, welche mit dem Anheben der Trachten beginnt und mit dem Abheben der Zehenwand vom Boden endet. Dabei dreht sich der Huf um den sogenannten Abrollpunkt. Die benötigte Zeitspanne für diesen Vorgang wird als Abrolldauer bezeichnet.

The point on the toe around which the hoof rotates after the heels lift off. It is the last point in contact with the ground before the hoof lifts off completely. Ideally the breakover point is in the centre of the toe, but a slight deviation of limb or hoofconformation often leads to a medial or lateral displacement of the break-over point. This point can be located by visual evaluation of the horse in movement or by evaluating the pattern of wear on the horse's hoof or shoe.

Point de la pince du fer ou du sabot, par lequel le pied bascule. L'idéal est que celui-ci se situe au milieu de la pince. Des défauts d'aplomb des membres peuvent conduire à des déviations par rapport à l'axe. Pour déterminer le point de bascule, on peut se fonder sur l'observation attentive du déroulement de la locomotion ou sur celle des traces d'usure du sabot ou du fer.

Stelle am Zehenteil des Hufeisens oder des Hufes, über welche der Huf abrollt. Im Idealfall liegt diese Stelle in der Mitte der Zehe. Fehlstellungen der Gliedmasse können zu seitlichen Abweichungen führen. Zum Feststellen des Abrollpunktes kann einerseits der Bewegungsablaufes genau beobachtet werden, andererseits geben Stellen der vermehrten Abnutzung von Huf oder Hufeisen einen guten Hinweis.
