Synthetics or plastics are a wide range of materials that are made up of millions of chains of molecules (polymers). The molecule chains consist of repeating molecular units (monomers). They are moldable in nature and come in a large variety of hardness that depends on the type of molecule from which they are made. An example is polypropylene which is a polymer of the molecule propylene.
