A morphological feature of horses' teeth. The dental cup is an oblong hollow formed by the the central enamel, which is filled with cementum (a softer material) and appears darker than the neighbouring surface of the tooth. The cups decrease in depth with increasing wear of the teeth and eventually disappear altogether. The order in which they disappear from the incisor teeth is used as an indicator of the horse's age.

Les cornets dentaires sont des éléments spécifiques de la surface de mastication des dents du cheval. Ils résultent du retournement de l'émail dentaire dur, formant ainsi les bords et la paroi des cavités dentaires. Ils sont remplis de cément. Par contact, les cornets dentaires s'usent et disparaissent, on dit que la dent est rasée. L'usure des incisives de la mâchoire inférieure est un critère précis pour évaluer l'âge du cheval.

Kunden sind eine morphologische Besonderheit der Reibefläche von Pferdezähnen. Sie entstehen in der Zahnentwicklung durch Einstülpungen des Zahnschmelzes und sind mit Zahnzement gefüllt. Durch die besondere Härte des Schmelzrandes stellt sich dieser bis zum Abnutzen erhaben gegenüber der restliche Zahnsubstanz der Kaufläche dar. Vor allem die Kunden der Unterkieferschneidezähne sind ein wichtiges morphologisches Kriterium zum Schätzen des Zahnalters eines Pferdes.
