specialised shoeing
therapeutic shoeing
The use of trimming and shoeing to influence a conformational trait (stance and limb deviations, hoofconformation), an abnormality in gait (e.g. interference) or a disease of the hoof or lower limb (e.g. laminitis or navicular syndrome). Any shoe which differs from a normal shoe (e.g. through extensions, bars etc.) can be considered a corrective shoe.

Ferrure spéciale, s'écartant par sa conception de la ferrure usuelle, que l'on utilise pour corriger les défauts d'aplomb, les défauts d'allure ou pour soigner épisodiquement ou durablement des maladies.
- Korrekturbeschlag, m
Vom Normalbeschlag abweichender Beschlag, welcher zur Korrektur von Fehlstellungen und/oder Bewegungsstörungen zeitweise oder dauerhaft eingesetzt wird.
Eine Spezialform des Korrekturbeschlages bildet der Therapeutsche Beschlag, welcher zur Therapie bei Huferkrankungen eingsetzt wird.
