A collective term used to refer to the group of muscles and tendons which originate from the distalfemur and insert on the tuber calcanei of the hock. It comprises: the proximal portion of the superficial digital flexor tendon (tendo plantaris), the tendon of the gastrocnemius muscle and the combined tendons of the biceps femoris muscle and the semitendinosus muscle.

Groupe de tendons enveloppés du fascia jambier, qui sont tendus entre le fémur (distalement) et la tubérosité calcanéenne. Ils jouent un rôle dans la station passive des membres postérieurs et dans l'appareil réciproque du cheval. Le tendon calcanéen commun se compose de la partie proximale du tendon du muscle fléchisseur superficiel (Tendo plantaris), du tendon du muscle gastrocnémien, des tendons des muscle biceps fémoral et semi-tendineux.

Gruppe von Sehnen und Faszien, welche zwischen dem distalen Oberschenkelknochen und dem Fersenbeinhöcker eingespannt sind.
Sie sind an der passiven Fixation der Hintergliedmasse und an der sogenannten Spannsägenkonstruktion beteiligt.
Der Fersensehnenstrang setzt sich aus:
- Unterschenkelabschnitt der oberflächlichen Beugesehne (Tendo plantaris),
- Tendo gastrocnemius (Sehne des Musculus gastrocnemius), und
- Tendo accessorius (aus den Sehnen des M. bizeps femoris und M. semitendinosus)
zusammen.
