A hole drilled in an object that doesn't penetrate the whole thickness. For example a pin hole in an aluminium shoe is drilled as a blind hole to prevent the pin, which has less hold than in the steel shoe, from being pushed up into the hoof.

Orifice ne traversant pas la pièce de part en part mais présentant une certaine profondeur. Sur les fers à cheval en aluminium, le trou pour les pointes de tungstène peut être borgne et ne pas déboucher, afin que les pointes en métal dur ne s'enfoncent pas lors des contraintes.

Bohrung, die das Werkstück nicht vollständig durchdringt, also eine bestimmte Tiefe hat. Bei Aluminiumhufeisen kann das Stiftloch als Sackloch gebohrt werden damit der Hartmetallstift bei Belastung nicht eingedrückt wird.
In Sacklöcher versenkte konusförmige Stifte dürfen nicht erhitzt werden. Stifte können sonst wie ein Projektil unkontrolliert durch die Gegend fliegen.
