The Equine Athlete

Shifting Loading and Weight-Bearing in the Equine Foot

By Dr Simon Curtis

During this session, the author simulated gross hoof imbalance by using a polymer urethane glue to illustrate how loading through the hoof capsule can be altered to the detriment or benefit of the horse.

The presentation was recorded when the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) hosted a day of demonstrations from equine researchers at Myerscough College in December 2015.
