Eventing webinar - The Importance of Ground Lines in a Cross Country Course


Context
This webinar course has been created to help Officials in getting a deeper understanding of the importance of the use of Ground Lines in a course to assist in the Risk Management. All fences will have a ground line as of 2021, in order to help Horses to better read and assess the fences.

Mark Philips, FEI Level 3 Course Designer, and Mike Etherington-Smith FEI Level 3 Eventing Course Designer, and Member of the Risk Management Steering Group, will be your hosts.

Course main topic & objectives

This programme provides you with some key information related to ground lines, and will help you to achieve the following outcomes, taking into account the equine vision:

  • Better understanding of the reason why it is mandatory as of 2021
  • What are the factors to take into consideration when putting your ground lines
  • Have a practical understanding on how to adequately place ground lines (which form, type, colour, size, terrain, etc.)

Eventing Officials such as Course Designers, Technical Delegates and Judges, and anybody interested to get a better understanding of importance of using Ground Lines on a course.
