The part of the hoof wall that is turned forwards at the heels, towards the apex of the frog. It has the same structure as the toe, quarter and heel region of the hoof wall. The bars form the abaxial edge of the medial and lateral sulci of the frog, and usually extend about two thirds of the length of the frog before tapering into the sole.

Partie de la boîte cornée que l'on ne peut voir qu'au lever. Situées sur la partie arrière du sabot, les barres sont des replis de la muraille, qui s'infléchissent à angle aigu le long de la fourchette; elles ont la même structure que le reste de la paroi.

Hinterster Teil der Hornwand (Hornplatte), der zu einem Winkel eingebogen ist und den gleichen anatomischen Aufbau aufweist wie Zehen-, Seiten- und Trachtenwand (Kronhorn und Blättchenhorn). Besteht aus einem Wandteil und einer Fortsetzung des Tragrandes. Der Wandteil bildet etwa 1/2 bis 2/3 der abxialen Begrenzung der seitlichen Strahlfurchen. Die Eckstrebe soll ein zu starkes nach aussen weichen der Trachten verhindern.
