inserts
A layer of leather, plastic, rubber or felt that is inserted between the hoof and the horseshoe. It may cover the whole of the sole (full pad), part of the sole or be limited to the region just underneath the shoe (rim pad). The purpose of pads is to protect the structures of the hoof (wall, sole, frog etc.) or dampen the shock of impact.

Les semelles peuvent être en cuir, en plastique, en caoutchouc ou en feutre. On place une semelle entre le sabot et le fer à cheval afin de protéger la sole ou d'amortir le choc de l'impact lors du poser.

Aus Leder, Plastik, Gummi oder Filz. Wird zwischen Huf und Hufeisen eingelegt, um die Hufsohle zu schützen oder den Aufprallstoss beim Auffussen abzudämpfen. Man findet Hufeinlagen, welche die ganze Sohle oder nur einen Bereich der Sohle abdecken oder ringförmige Sohlen, die zwischen Hufeisen und Tragrand eingelegt werden.
