pritchel
Definition
A tool used to strike through the bottom of the nail holes made by the stamp to create the openings on the foot surface of the shoe. The pritchel is usually a flattened metal rod tapered to a point. The dimensions of the point should correspond closely to the dimensions of the shank of the nail being used.
