Permitted Treating Veterinarian Online Examination

The FEI’s Permitted Treating Veterinarian (PTV) status allows veterinarians, who have been supported by their National Federation, to treat horses at FEI events.

In order to achieve the PTV status, veterinarians must pass the PTV online examination. The intention of the examination is to ensure the PTV understands their role and the principles of Clean Sport.

Following successful completion of the examination you will be issued with a PTV identification card, valid for 3 years. You must keep your identification card with you when attending horses during FEI events. The card does not ensure accreditation by Organising Committees and registration with veterinary governing bodies is still required should you wish to treat horses at FEI events outside the country in which you usually work.

If you have any enquiries relating to applications to become a PTV or to renew your status, please email veterinary@fei.org
